Biography
Charity (Courtis) Goodman was born in England.
Charity was born in 1779. She was the daughter of John Courtis and Elizabeth Carnbellack.[1]
In 1802, Charity had a son named Cuthbert. She was not married and the baptism records do not list the father's name however given the name she bestowed on the baby it would not be unreasonable to draw the conclusion that the father was Cutherbert Tremayne (1749-1827).[2]
Charity (aged 24) married William Smith (aged 55) in 1803.[3] They had three children:
Charity married John Goodman in 1808[7] shortly after the death of William.[8] They had at least one daughter, Mary Ann.[9]
In the 1841 census Cherity (age 60) was in St Kew, Cornwall, England.[10]
In the 1851 census Charity (age 77) was the wife of John Goodman in St Kew, Cornwall, England.[11]
She died in 1857.[12]
