Biography
John Wesley Courtis was born in Williamstown, Victoria in 1859. He was the son of John Courtis and Jane Burall. Both of his parents were from Wales. [1]
He returned to Wales with his family in the late 1860s. He was Lord Mayor of Cardiff 1911-1912. During this time he was knighted.
He married Maria Riches.
