Alexander was born about 1835 in Caithness.[1] He was the son of Charlotte Dunbar. [1]
In the 1841 census, Alexander (age 5) was in Bredalben Terrace, Wick, Caithness.[2]
Alexander married Ann Armstrong in 1861 in Victoria.[3]
In the 1871 census, Alexander (age 35), Mason, was the head of household on Draffan Bank Merry St, Dalziel, Lanarkshire.[4]
He had erected a monument for his mother in Crosskirk Cemetery, Crosskirk, Highland. (At the time, it was still Caithness). The monument gives his location of the time as Ganawana, Victoria.[5]
In the 1891 census, Alexander (age 55), Stone Mason, was the head of household at 22 Union, Dalziel, Lanarkshire.[6]
Alexander died in about 1902 and was buried on 20 January 1902 in Bairnsdale Cemetery, Bairnsdale, Victoria.[7]
