Biography

Edward Coombe was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)

Edward Coombe was born in 1875^[1] to John Lean Coombe and Eliza Ann (nee Anthony).

Edward married Hilda Maud Merrett, his first cousin, in 1906^[2], and they had at least three daughters and six sons.

Edward Coombe is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Edward died in 1925^[5]. The following death noticed appeared in the local paper.:

• DEATHS., COOMBE.--On the 15th December, at Adelaide, Edward, beloved husband of Hilda Coombe, of 67, LeHunte-avenue, Prospect, aged 51 years (suddenly).^[6] and was buried at West Terrace Cemetery.^[7][8]

Possibly killed himself by arsenic poisoning, because of Post War stress. Was remorseful, but having been rushed to the doctors, he was unable to be saved.
