Biography
Clair Cook lived in Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand.
Clair Baxter Cook was born on the 7 March 1917 in New Zealand, the son of Peter Cook and Eliza Madeline Baxter. [1]
On the 21 December 1944 he was awarded the "Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire". This was for his service in Italy as a Warrant Officer, Class 2, in the New Zealand Military Services. [2]
He married Phyllis Constance Sanson in 1949. [3] Clair and Phyllis had a family of two daughters - Susan Joan and Karen Patricia.
Clair was in his 69th year when he died on the 18 August 1895. [4]
His funeral was held on the 22 August 1985, when his remains were buried in the Oamaru Lawn Cemetery. His grave is in RSA 21, Plot 11. His wife Phyllis was buried in this plot in 1997. [5]
