William was born about 1835. He was the son of James Colvin and Ann Kerr. He died as a result of a trap accident in 1880.[1][2]
In 1841 he was living with his mother Ann and siblings (relationships assumed) at Clouds, Duns .[3]
By 1871 he and wife Elizabeth were living at Ferniehirst in Jedburgh Parish, with their family of 6[4]
