Lilian (Collins) Martindale was born in Yorkshire, England.

Lilian Collins was born on 23 April 1894 in Todmorden, Lancashire, England. ^[1] She was the daughter of Frederick Francis Collins & Phoebe Clarke) Collins, and was baptised on 9 June 1894 in Todmorden, Christ Church. At this time, the family were living at 4, Stone Street, and her father was a Joiner^[2]

Lilian lived with her parents and siblings in Oldham, Lancashire in 1901,^[3] and 1911, when age 17 she was working as a Cotton Frame Tenter.^[4] In 1921 census Lilian 27, was a Shop Assistant, working for H F Thorp, House Furnishers. ^[5]

On 26 August she married Albert Martindale at the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Henshaw Street, in Oldham, ^[6][7] and in 1939 they are living in St Matthew's Drive, Chadderton, near Oldham. ^[8]

Lilian's death (age 80) was registered in 1975 in Hampshire, England.^[9]
