Sorry it has taken this long to reply - Just busy with life!
My gr-grandfather, Calbert Smith was the brother of your gr-grandfather, Lowry Smith Sr.
If you view the drop down menu under the Profile ID (for instance, this is yours: Handy-925) of any profile - The 2nd item is: 'Connection to me'. Then you click on 'Connection to me' on that particular profile and a page will appear indicating their connection to you. If there is no connection (yet), the page will state so.
We haven’t heard back from you concerning the Scottish Clans Transition. If we haven’t received a response from you by 1 April 2020, you will be welcome to rejoin by answering the current g2g thread for joining the Scotland Project.
My name is Sarah and I’m the Project Coordinator for the Scotland Project. As you may have heard, we have merged the Scottish Clans project into the Scotland Project. I am contacting you today to find out if you are interested in continuing with us under this new format. If you would like to go forward on the Scottish Clans Team, please reply and let me know which clans you have been working on or would like to work on. I look forward to hearing from you.
Now that makes this a small, small world, indeed - My Buchanans move from Scotland to Ontario before heading down into Iowa, South Dakota etc. It would be uncanny if we have a connection there as well.
If it's in the gedcom cleanup and can be opened, it can be cleaned up. But it needs to be open or eligible to be opened. If it falls in the new date guidelines submit the open profile request. If it's locked, and has a manager, and doesn't fall within the new date guidelines, it will just have to stay as is until the manger gets around to it.
I've corrected a lot of the easier ones already so am left with the toughies. If the PM's of these profiles would all handle their own errors you and I would not be trying to clean up the mess. I didn't realize I am related to so many ancestors. Sheesh!
Thank you Mary, yes I agree about no suggested place names in some states. Virginia is difficult probably because of so many changes to it over the years. In those cases I just remove USA and leave the rest of the name as is. I appreciate your help but I hope you don't feel obligated to do it!
