George Coggan Coat^[1] was baptised on 5 Dec 1839 at Long Load Somerset, to parents Vincent and Ann COAT.

He can be found living at Marlock, Somerset in the 1841 and 1851 censuses.

George emigrated to Australia sometime between 1851 -1864, when he married Mary HANNON in Victoria, Australia. George and Mary had at least one son, named William.

George appears in the Australian Electoral roll in 1914 residing at Alecia Street, Sandringham, Victoria. His occupation is described as builder.

George died in 1922, aged 84 at Sandringham, Victoria, Australia.
