Tommy P. Christensen (b. 1955) is living in Sweden (Malmø), and working in Denmark (Copenhagen area and Eastern Zeeland). "The Bridge" (Scandinavian Noir) - you know.

He has graduated 1990 from Copenhagen University (Københavns Universitet: Historie og kunsthistorie), and has a Master in Adult Education from Roskilde University.

He is now an author, (micro-)publisher and adult teacher in evening schools. Through the years he has been lecturing at Copenhagen University, Open University, college, Peoples High Schools (a Danish speciality), and evening classes.

Formerly he has been a curator in Danish archives and museums (Esbjerg, Herlev, Odense). In 7 years he was Head of the Maritime Collections at the Malmö Museums in Sweden and has been editor of several books, Personalhistorisk Tidsskrift, Hvem Forsker Hvad og Slægten - Forum for slægtshistorie. His latest book is: "Amagers industrialisering - begyndelsen" (2016. Sorry - in Danish!).

Tommy,

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace.

How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Cindy ~ WikiMessenger

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. You can always find a link that works in the public comments on your profile.

Tommy--

You've been here for three weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better. You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi Tommy, Thank you for the note!

Just enter the profiles for "early industrialist from the English speaking part of Europe who was of importance to the industrial revolution in Scandinavia." as unconnected people if they are not part of you family and ancestor.

Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Hello

It's time for your next stop on the guided tour!

This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, our forum, and projects.

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!

If the above link does not work from your email, please go to your profile in the public comments and it will work from there.

Please ask if you have questions. :-)

You've been here a week now, and we hope you enjoyed your first stop on your guided tour of WikiTree and were able to make good use of the things you learned.

Our next stop will give you some pointers on how to make your profiles stand out: How to Edit a Profile.

As always, your questions are welcome! If the above link does not work from your email, please go to your profile in the public comments and it will work from there.

Thanks, WikiMessenger Cindy

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for joining us! I’m David, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

Did you have fun learning your way around WikiTree yesterday?

I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for completing the tags indicating you wish to research/document your family history. You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members.

As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: Are you related to a Magna Carta Surety Baron?

Great to have you on board and good luck growing your branches.

Hi Tommy,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
