Jane (Cheeseman) Gillman was born in Wadhurst, Sussex, England.

Jane was born about 1828 in Wadhurst, Sussex, England.

The 1851 England and Wales Census shows Jane living with her parents, four siblings and two nieces in Gas Lane, Tunbridge, Kent, England.[1] She was 22 years old.

In 1852 Jane married James Gillman in Tunbridge, Kent, England.[2] She was about 24 years old.

The 1861 England and Wales Census shows the couple and six children living in Lower Brook Street, Winchester, Hampshire, England.[3] Jane was 32 years old.

The 1871 England and Wales Census shows the couple and six children living in Battersea, Surrey, England.[4] Jane was 42 years old.

The 1881 England and Wales Census shows the couple and four children living in Weston Street, Battersea, Surrey, England.[5] Jane was 52 years old.

The 1891 England and Wales Census shows Jane and two children living in Weston Street, Battersea, Surrey, England.[6] Jane was 62 years old.

Jane's husband James passed away in 1892 in Wandsworth, London, England. He was 69 years old.

The 1901 England and Wales Census shows Jane, two sons, daughter-in-law Amelia and two grandchildren living in Weston Street, Battersea, Surrey, England.[7] Jane was 72 years old.

Jane passed away in 1912 in Wandsworth, Surrey, England.[8] She was 88 years old.

Research Notes

The name of the town of Tunbridge was changed to Tonbridge in the mid to late 19th Century and should not be confused with Royal Tunbridge Wells, which is a separate town about four miles away.
