Biography

George was born about 1767 at Walden, Essex, England and baptised aged 6 years on the 2nd May 1773 with his sister Hannah at All Saints, Wimbish, Essex, England, the son of Abraham Chapman and Mary Chapman^[1].

George was named as the uncle of Ann Dennison, wife of William Dennison, farmer of Debden in William's will dated 22nd February 1837^[2]. It is likely that Ann was the daughter of William & Mary Thurgood.

He passed away on the 4th August 1851 at Sewer's End {now Sewards End}, Essex, England^[3].

In his will, George named his natural {illegitimate} daughter Louisa Moore nee Pamphilon, wife of Joseph Moore, farmer of Little Walden, daughter of Ann Pamphilon, now wife of George Wakefield.

He also named his natural {illegitimate} daughters Eliza and Mary Ann Nutting, daughters of Elizabeth Nutting.

Also named were his sisters Hannah Bird (widow) and Mary Thurgood (widow).
