Biography

Charles Castle was born in 1863 in Rutherglen, Victoria, Australia, the son of Ann (Watson) Castle and George Castle.^{[citation needed]}

He married Emily Victoria Kew on 21 October 1893 at Aberdeen Road in Prahran, Victoria.^[1] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

• Emily Castle (1893?–1893?)
• William Thomas Castle (1894?–?)
• Norman Charles Castle (1895–1960)

Emily died in 1897.^{[citation needed]}

Charles remarried in 1899 in Victoria, to Sarah Jane Watson.^[2] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

• Agnes Charlotte Castle (1900–1967)
• Walter William Castle (1902?–1997?)

Charles died on 7 June 1907 in Daysdale, Corowa, New South Wales.^{[citation needed]}

Charles apparently left his second wife (Sarah Jane WATSON) who had two children of her own. She put Charles' son Norman Charles in a home where he grew up. When he was let out of the home, he went looking for his mother's people (the Kew family)

It may be just a coincidence that his mother Anne and his second wife, Sarah were WATSONS. It is possible that Sarah (2nd wife) was the daughter of a brother of Anne (mother) Making his 2nd wife his cousin. If so it may have been a marriage of convenience rather than love. He needed a mother for his young son, and she may have wanted a home and husband. This is of course just a possible scenario.
