Biography

Alfred was born on 26 May 1850 in Union County Illinois.

  • 1850 US Federal Census for District 2, Union County, Illinois shows Alfred Caster as a new-born ( 1 month old) with his parents Levi Caster (age 29) and wife Mary along with a 2 year-old sister. [1]
  • 1870 US Federal Census for Misenheimer, Union County, Illinois shows Alfred A. Caster (age 20) in the household of Sidney Cruse (age 29) along with his wife Sarah Cruse (age 25) and 3 young children. [2]
  • Sydney Cruse died in August 1871 at the age of 30. His death left his wife Sarah Cruse with four young children. Sarah married Alfred Caster in June 1874.
  • 1880 US Federal Census for Misenheimer, Union County, Illinois shows Alfred Caster (age 30) with wife Sarah and 6 children (3 Cruse and 3 Caster)[3]
  • 1900 US Federal Census for Mill Creek, Union County, Illinois shows Alfred Caster (age 50) with his wife Sarah and 4 of the Caster's sons living in their household. [4]
  • Alfred Caster passed away in Union County, Illinois on 17 July 1906 at the age of 56. He is buried in the Saint Johns Cemetery in Dongola, Union County, Illinois. [5]
