There seem to be a lot of profiles created where you have not yet returned to add the Source information for these profiles. This is particularly important for pre-1700 profiles. The basics on sourcing is talked about on this help page which you may find useful https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s VERY important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I see you have started to add family members to our tree. Great, thanks for your contributions so far! Before you get along too far, please review how to add [1]. Sources are very important here on Wikitree. It is how we show where we got the info and help others find it too.
The easiest way to find sources is to use the handy RootsSearch link on the right side of any profile. (You login with your WikiTree login). There are links to over 20 genealogy websites. I recommend starting with FamilySearch. Once you find a correct source, just copy and paste the citation provided into the profile. This can go at the end or use the inline citation tool to add it to the biography.
I have added a marriage source to Marcus Elam Carter as an example. You can copy this source and add it to the profile of his wife. I hope this helps.
Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Thank you for upgrading, 😊
I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy.
No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point.
Take your time, keep track of sources and ask questions. Check here for tips.
