Thank you for joining our project. We are pleased that you decided to join us and hope that you find the Orphan Trail rewarding.
The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members periodically to make sure everything is going well. This is our formal annual check-in and we are interested in your perspective as a Trailer, whether you are still waiting to be buddied up with a Trailblazer, on the road to completing the Orphan Trail, or taking a short break.
We would be interested to hear whether you're finding the explanations and guidance in the Orphan Trail pages useful. No more than a couple of sentences would be enough. We are always looking to improve and feedback plays an important part.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please respond by posting a reply below or sending me a private message.
On behalf of all the Leaders, thank you again. We look forward to your completion of the Orphan Trail and your continued involvement in our collaborative and fun Project!
Kind regards,
Elizabeth, England Project Leader
Thanks for your contributions to our tree.
I see that you have been adding pre-1700 profiles tonight using "Familysearch records " as your source. This is not considered an adequate source for pre-1700 profiles. Would you please review the Pre-1700 Quiz and the explanations about the sort of sources WikiTree is looking for, as well as our Help page on Sources.
Thank you!
Dave
We hope you are enjoying your time in the Orphan Trail Team; even if you are currently taking a Pause or waiting to be buddied up with a Trailblazer. We are pleased that you decided to join us and on behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for all your contributions towards the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve English profiles!
We are looking forward to you joining one of our other collaborative and energetic teams once you complete the Trail.
I'd also like to share our annual Newsletter with you. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading a bit about what has gone on in 2022 and what our Project has achieved.
The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members every 6 months just to make sure everything is going well. There's no need to reply to this message unless you have something you'd like to let us know about (e.g. if you would like to provide us with feedback about the Trail or the project). We will be in touch with you again in the middle of next year when we do our annual check-in with project members.
On behalf of all the Leaders, I wish you a peaceful and productive 2023.
Best wishes,
Susie, England Project Leader

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: New Member How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

Can you please review these links? I think that you will find them helpful. First, you should review the Honor Code point VIII. There is more information on sourcing on Sources FAQ's and this is very helpful, Sourcing Primer. You will need to add locations to your profiles, especially the Pre-1700.
Laura
Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
It looks like the England Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.
Take care

If you click your green tags it will show you members who are also following that tag. Add tags for family and other surnames. You can also add tags for locations or interests - explore the project link for these. Tags link you to the community sourcing & research options, to add more tags (you can have 20) go to your tags. You can find more information about tags here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags.

I have followed the procedure to the letter for adding my Father to my profile, However when I follow the format for birth and death dates it is rejected and comes up as an error even though the format has been followed. Furthermore keeps stating living and non living the living[ Myself ] is trying to add details on my Father onto my profile. I have tried on numerous times although the information is correct it will not accept it. I am completely baffled by this and frustrated by my failed attempts.
Azure is off-duty, so I am responding. Did you by any chance put an email address on your father's profile? If so, that is what is causing the error. Email addresses only go on profiles for living people. You will be set as the manager of your father's profile and will automatically be alerted about anything to do with his profile.
If you were not adding an email address, let me know and we will work together to figure it out. I am on-duty until 2pm GMT.
Debi
I tried what you said and left the E-mail address out and success it worked. So I have been busy adding names, still have the odd blip but all I have to do is jiggle the dates ,year, month until I find the correct setting sometimes works in various different formats. Anyway I would like to thank you and Azure for your help on this issue thank you both. Andy
See you in the branches,
Debi ~ WikiTree Greeter
PS We have a research tool that makes finding reliable sources easier. I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check. To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootsSearch FAQ.
Debi is off-duty right now, but I'm happy to help!
In order to add profiles, you will need to upgrade (free).
Let me know if you need further assistance.

I am experiencing difficulty adding my Father on my family tree. The correct information is correct ,however whichever format that I enter the death date it is constantly rejected, also there is another error stating that Living and deceased. The living[ me] and the deceased my Father.
Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated as I feel that I am struggling to even start on this great adventure into my Family History.
If you want to communicate with cousins or others about genealogy (whether or not you want to add profiles on our single family tree), you can upgrade at no cost to the Family Member level at any time by adding your genealogy communication preferences.
