Edward Henry Carson, the son of Edward Henry Carson and Isabella formerly Lambert, was born in 1854 at Dublin, Ireland. "As a child Edward Carson spent his summers in Castle Ellen [near Athenry in Co. Galway] and during this time spent in Galway he became friends with the Shawe-Taylor family of Castle Taylor in Ardrahan".[1]
