Biography
Mary was born in 1874 in the Bahamas to John Carey and Sarah Spencer.[1][2] According to the Dolly Mae her date of birth is noted as 18 Jun 1873.[3]
Mary married James Alexander Rattray Curry on 11 Apr 1894 in Key West, Florida.[4] In 1930, they were living in Key West and had six children at home (James, Howard, Gertie, John, Cecil and Marian).[5] All six children were still living with James and Mary (aka Gertrude) in 1940. Cleora (aka Marian) was married and back home with a child, James, but no husband.[6]
She passed away in 1955. Burial was in the Key West Cemetery in Key West, Monroe County, Florida.[7]
