Hello there! You are the profile owner of several profiles with the last name CHAGNON LAROSE. Per both wikitree and Project Quebecois guidelines, only use the FIRST last name at birth as listed on the baptismal record, or in absence of a baptismal record, the most commonly used form of the name. This helps IMMENSELY in preventing duplicates. Thank you!

Well my dear cousin Danielle, it appears that our cousin Jodie dit Calvert didn't take your advice and has been changing established profiles names into the names she prefers regardless of what name was there. Profiles I created, my ancestors; I guess as well as hers. Now no one will be able to find them and my grandchildren will have to search and merge them.

Jodie, please update your email address.

I know the name gets converted to St-Arnaud in a later generation, but that is later, let's not jump the gun here.  :D We try to keep things according to chronological order, including place names.

Hi Jodie,

I don't have any power on the GEDCOM - I'm just a volunteer like you, but I'll see if I can find anything out.

Congratulations for signing the Honor Code ?

Guy

Jodie , you can upload a gedcom from your Ancestry tree ( you can export a tree from Ancestry) . You will be putting a genealogy software on your computer for your Ancestry tree export. There are many free ones.

We also have a limit on the first gedcom uploaded so you will need this tip : http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Splitting_a_GEDCOM

Welcome, Jodie -

Yes, WikiTree is a very intriguing effort!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community.

Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help, see the help section from the menu, top left, or visit the G2G forum. You might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you.

Thanks for offering to help build our shared tree.
