Biography

Samuel Burns, son of Samuel Burns, was born in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

He married in 1868 to Maggie Mcilraith McClymont.

Samuel and Margaret emigrated to New Zealand with their daughter Mary, who was born in 1868.

Samuel Burns migrated from Scotland to New Zealand.

Samuel died at the age of 83 in 1928. He was buried in Oamaru Old Cemetery, Presbyterian section, at Block 77, Plots 48 and 49. The interment was on 11 July 1928, a few days after his death on 8 July. He was survived by his wife Margaret, who died in 1943.
