John Buchanan was born in 1779, in Omagh, County Tyrone, Ireland, his father, John Buchanan, was 43 and his mother, Sarah Sproule, was 28.
He married Mary Jane Blacker on 6 April 1820, in Omagh, County Tyrone, Ireland. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 3 daughters.
He died on 12 January 1842, in his hometown, at the age of 63, and was buried in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. [1]
