Donald's birth was registered in 1877 in the Glenmuick Tullich and Glengairn district.[1] In the 1881 census Donald (age 3) was the son of Catherine Buchanan at 82 Hutcheon St West, Aberdeen St Nicholas, Aberdeenshire.[2]
