Biography
Christina Buchanan was born about 1816 in Kilbride, Argyll, Scotland this is estimated based on census information.
Christina married firstly Neil Grant (abt.1816-bef.1851) on on 15 March 1839 in Gorbals, Lanarkshire[1].
Their children were:
By 1841 Christina and her husband were residing at Carlincroft Square, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire with their daughter[2].
Christina's husband Neil dies sometime after 1841 but before 1861. It is not known where they were in the 1851 census.
Christina re-married sometime before 1861 however a record of this has not yet been identified. Christina married secondly James Neilson (abt.1823-).
By 1861 she was residing with her new husband James Neilson at 2379 Drumskeoch, New Monkland. Christina's son Neil by her first husband is also in the household as well as a number of Neilson children however it is not known how many of them if any are her children[3].
