Biography

Robert Buchanan was born on 23 December 1865 in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, son of William Buchanan (1832–1895) and Matilda Byers (~1843–1898).^[1]

Mr Buchanan joined the Union Steam Ship Co. in 1883. serving with the company for 26 years. On 13 July 1902 he married Miss Euphemia Neilson and settled at Onehunga. ^[2][3]

Robert died on 26 September 1944 in Auckland, New Zealand, aged 78.^{[4] [5] [6]}
