George was born in 1879 in Gilmore, Michigan.
In 1902 he married Nellie Myrtle Payne. They lived near Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where George had access to the railroads where he worked. Their first son, born 1903, did not survive a day. In 1905 they had another son, Donald.
He passed away in 1907 in a horrific railyard accident in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. He was buried back home near Gilmore, Michigan.
