Elizabeth was born in 1820. She was the daughter of Charles Brown and Elizabeth Ralston. [1]

She came to the United States with her family in 1838. [2]

She married Edward Brown in 1841.[3]

Elizabeth’s brother Alexander married Edward’s sister Margaret.

They farmed in Hamilton County, Ohio.[4]

About 1853 they moved to Harlem Township, Illinois. And were part of the Scottish Settlement. [5][6][7]

Elizabeth died in 1880.

Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, wife of Edward Brown died yesterday morning, at Argyle. Mrs. Brown was born in Argyleshire, Scotland, and came to this country about 1885.

She resided in Hamilton County, Ohio until 1851, when she moved to this country in company with her husband and has since resided at Argyle. The funeral takes place at the Presbyterian church in that place tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock. [8]
