Alexander was born in 1844 to Alexander and Sarah Benedict Brown.[1]
Partner in Brown Shipley a bank founded in Liverpool by his grandfather in 1810 originally call W. Brown and Co.
He gained the rank of Cornet in the 5th Dragoon Guards. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Wenlock between 1868 and 1885.
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal Union) for Wellington between 1885 and 1906.
He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the Lancashire and Cheshire Royal Garrison Artillery.
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire. He also held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.
He was created 1st Baronet Brown, of Broome Hall, Holmwood, Surrey [U.K.] on 5 January 1903.
He passed away on March 12, 1922[2] and was buried on March 16th in Christ Church Churchyard in Coldharbour, Surrey, England.[3]
