The son of Peter Franklin Brown and his second wife, Emily J (Durling) Brown, William Brown was born in Tecumseh, Michigan[citation needed] in 1890, residing there with his family. His father passed away in 1899 and afterward, William lived in Britton with his mother and his siblings.[1][2]
William married Flora (1893-) about whom nothing is known. He registered for the World War I draft when he was 27, registering in Tecumseh, Michigan on June 5, 1917--the registrar for the precinct was his older brother, Charles.[3] He stated that he lived in Britton, Michigan and that he for Ben J. Beasley, working as a clerk in a produce house. William was described as a man of medium height and build, with light brown hair and light blue eyes.
In 1920, he and his wife lived together in Tecumseh, Michigan, while William worked as a railroad brakeman, working for the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad Company.[4]
Harold Brown died from injuries sustained in a railroad accident, passing away in Lima, Ohio at the age of 43, after the loss of both legs below the knee.[5][6] He and his wife resided in Ecorse, Michigan at the time of his death. William Brown is buried with his family at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh, Michigan.[7]
