I am struggling to figure out how to add a cousin so that we can collaborate on our tree. I have looked through info but I am only getting more confused. I thought that I had to invite him first or does he need to create a profile first?
He and I along with another cousin are working on genealogy for a family reunion. we may have a 150 people and families that need to get added to a tree. Any advice is appreciated. We were thinking maybe we invite the cousins to add info themselves, but maybe it is better to have only a few of us adding info. Let me know your thoughts. I appreciate it.
Best,
Gina
There are two ways that you can do this. If you have created a profile for them, go to the profile and click the Edit tab. Scroll down and you will see "Email" add their email and click "Save". That will send them an invite to join WikiTree and the profile will become their member profile once they accept the invitation. If one has been created that is the best way since we do not allow duplicates. If you have not created a profile for them then they will need to join WikiTree. You can add cousins without them being members. If they are not members and are living then their profiles will be private and only the manager and members on the trusted list will be able to see them. However, the more cousins that you invite and accept will help your collaboration because some may have information that others don't. It will also give you more family members to collaborate with. We always welcome new members. I hope that helps. Regards, Laura
