Thornton Morris Broomfield was born on 23 December 1906 at Haverstraw, New York.^[1][2] He was the son of John Grafton Broomfield and Helen Elizabeth Walsh.

In 1910, he lived with his parents in Manhattan.^[3]

In 1920, they lived in New Haven, Connecticut.^[4]

In 1940, he lived with his widowed mother in Manhattan.^[5]

On 19 May 1941 in Bronx, New York, he married Eugenia Devetzho (need to check spelling).^[6]

By 1950, he was separated and living with his mother in the Bronx, New York.^[7]
