cert reads: Walter BROOMFIELD, watchmaker & jeweller (master), married to Catherine HOOD, s/o Joseph BROOMFIELD, shoemaker - foreman dec, and Margaret FAIRBAIRN, dec; died 20 Aug 1892 (probate docs say 22nd but cert clearly states 20th, reg. 23rd) 3pm at Wgtn Cottage, Wgtn St, Portobello aged 38, inf. Andrew BROOMFIELD, brother, of 12 Spittal St, Edin.. [4][5][6][7]

Occupation: a watchmaker master. JAN 1877. Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. [8] "had a jeweller's shop and was a gentleman of the City of Edinburgh. [9]
