Melvin Leroy Brisbin was born on June 30, 1920 in Beulah, Crawford, Kansas, United States, son of John Emerson Franklin Brisbin (1896–1984) and Ivy Julia Newport (1900–1967).
In 1930, Melvin was living in Weir, Cherokee, Kansas. [1]
In 1940, Melvin was living in Cherokee. [2]
Melvin (27) married Betty Jean Malcolm (16) (born on March 9, 1931 in Weir, Cherokee) on September 13, 1947 in Pittsburg, Crawford. Their children were:
