'Alfred L. Boyd, 68, of 3434 Capitol Trail, Marshallton, was pronounced dead at Memorial Division yesterday after suffering a heart attack at his home.
'Dr. Ali Z. Hameli, state medical examiner, said Boyd had been under treatment for a heart condition.
'Mr. Boyd retired three years ago from the Joseph Bancroft & Son Co., where he had been employed 44 years. He was a charter member of the Cranston Heights Fire Company and a member of Berea Presbyterian Church, 3616 Kirkwood Highway.
'Mr. Boyd was not married. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Whiteman of Philadelphia, Mrs. Jane S. Lambert of Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. Ernest Diamond of Klair Estates, and four brothers, Charles Boyd and Edward J. H. Boyd, both of Marshallton, Walter G. Boyd of Wilmington, and a half-brother, S. Richard Shannon of Cranston Heights.
'Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the Nichols Funeral Home, 210 N. James St., Newport. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow night.'
