Birth He is possibly the child James Bowman, baptised 7 May 1693 at Logie, County Fife, father's name James, residence Leuchars.^[1]

Marriage: James "Buman" and Katharin Ramsay, were married in 1714 (recorded on 19 October 1714 and 22 December 1714) at Crail, Fife, Scotland.^[2]

James and Katharin had the following children:^[3]

Death: James Bowman died (or was buried?) on 3 March 1761 and was buried at Crail. The "Register of the dead" for Crail had the notation "James Bowman an aged man".^[4][5]

Research Notes

Death Surprisingly, several trees on Ancestry.com have his death 28 Sep 1785 without giving the place of burial or the primary source. This is actually James Bowman who was buried at Pittenweem.^[6] Why this man was chosen and not the man who died in 1761at Crail is possibly because the Crail burial is not appearing in the Scotlandspeople index as of March 2023.
