Biography

Marvin H. Boring was born in Ohio (probably Licking County) on December 1, 1936 to Oscar Boring and Flora (Hamm) Boring. He was the youngest of three children born to the couple.

Marvin was raised on his paternal grandparents' Franklin Township, Ohio farm. He lived with his grandparents, parents, brother, sister, and two bachelor uncles. His parents eventually took over the daily operations of the farm.

Marvin worked alongside his father, uncles, and sister on the farm. On May 13, 1953 Marvin was working in the fields when a tractor flipped over on him, crushing his chest. He died from his injuries. He was 16 years old. He is buried in a family plot with his parents in Franklin Township Lutheran Cemetery in Newark, Ohio.
