TEXT An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, December 29, 1988:

Willie Fay (Bill) Baize, 77, of Gatesville died Dec. 23 at Providence Hospital in El Paso. Services were held Dec. 27 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. M.V. Hemphill officiating. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery. Born Aug. 3, 1911 in Hamilton, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Cora Blacklock. She married James R. Baize January 23, 1931. She and her husband made their home in the King Community with the past few years being spent in El Paso. She is preceded in death by her husband Feb. 28,1988. Survivors include: two sons, Jackie Baize of El Paso and Kenneth Baize of Carthage; five sisters, Leaneta Moody of McGregor, Clora Barnett, Ernestine Kirchmeir and Joe Kirchmeir, all of Gatesville, and Inez Crawford of California; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers at the funeral were Roger Barnett, Quinton Barnett, Burney Baize, Donald Baize, Loriane Baize and Zonnell Haynes.
