Biography

The son of John F Bishop and Ann Elizabeth (Brown) Bishop, William Bishop was born in Geneseo, New York^{[citation needed]} in 1850, residing there with his family.^{[1][2][3][4][5]}

William married Sarah L. Booth (1851-1915), the daughter of John E. Booth and Caroline E. Jones, marrying in Canandaigua County, New York in 1879^{[citation needed]} and having one known son together, John Abner Bishop (1884-1966). They made their home together in Geneseo, New York, living with William's family while William worked as a clerk in the Geneseo County Clerk's office.^[6][7]

William's father died in 1895 and the death of William's mother, William and his remained in the Bishop family home in Geneseo, New York, while William continued his work in the County Clerk's office; his household in 1910 included his widowed father-in-law.^[8] Widowed in 1915, William's household in 1920 included his adult son.^[9] William Bishop passed away in Geneseo, New York^[10] at the age of 74 and is buried at Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.^[11]
