Biography
Abel Janshen Betten was born on 26 February 1872 in Norderney, Aurich, Hanover, Prussia, Germany as the son of Jacob Heyen Betten (1833-1903).[1] Abel, son of Jacob Heyen Betten & Eberica Abels Betten, was baptised on 24 March 1872 in Norderney, Norderney, Norden, Provinz Hannover, Preußen, Deutsches Reich.[2]
Abel (22) married Polly Sincock (27) (born in 1867) on 17 January 1895 in Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand.[3] Their children were:
- Amelia Sybil Betten (born 1895)
- Lilian May Betten (born 16 March 1897)
Abel died on 16 February 1936 in New Zealand, aged 63.[4] He was buried in Bromley Cemetery, Bromley, Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand (plot: Block 13.[1]
