Biography

Pierre Oliver Benoit was born about 1730 in Pisiguit, Acadia. He was the son of Guillaume "dit Perrochon" Benoit and Marie-Josephte Gautrot.

Pierre Oliver Benoit married Victoire Dugas about 1760 in Bras D’Or, île Royale (now Cape Breton), Acadia. [citation needed] Their marriage was revalidated in Arichat, Ile Madame, on August 12, 1771. [1] The date and location of their marriage before witnesses were omitted in the register. This will need to be resolved against the recorded births of their children beginning with twins in 1764. This biography and vital data will be updated pending ongoing research. Otherwise what is represented herein is the best known information to date commensurate with known events including estimated marriage year of 1760 as represented by RootsWeb WorldConnect Project (Source & Web link below).
