Biography

Edith Annie Bellette was born on 29th March 1862 in Sorell, Tasmania, Australia. She was the daughter of Frederick Bellette, farmer and Amelia Fisher. The birth was registered in district of Hobart, Tasmania.

On 7th November 1891, Edith Annie, 29, married Charles Henry Bidgood, 31 at St. Andrews Manse, Sorell by Minister Joseph Black. The witnesses were Amelia I Bellette and Blanche J Bellette.

Edith and Charles had at least 2 children: daughters Elvie Alicia 1893 and Laurie 1896 and lived mostly in Sorell and Bellerive.

She passed away on the 3rd March 1938 aged 75. A death and funeral notice appears in the Voice (Hobart) on 5th March 1938: DEATH: BIDGOOD— On March 5th, 1938, at Private Hospital; Hobart, Edith Annie, relict of Charles Henry Bidgood, in the 76th year of her age. Late of Bellerive. At rest.
