Biography
Emanuel (Bectdol) Bectdolat served in the United States Civil War. Side: USA
Pvt. Emanuel Bectdol alias Bechdolat was 27 years old when he enlisted in the Union Army on 7 October 1862. He was mustered into Company H, 37th Regiment, Ohio Infantry.[1][2]
Pvt. Bectdol was killed by an accidental gunshot at Camp Sherman, Mississippi on 9 August 1863. He is believed to be buried in an unknown grave in the Vicksburg National Cemetery.
A pension was taken out by his wife: Mary M. Bechdolat, child Jacob H. Bechdolat was also listed as a minor child.[3][4]
