Royal and Magna Carta Connections

William is a descendant of William the Conqueror and of Alice de Normandy, King William's sister.[2]
Magna Carta Project logo
Descendant of Roger and Hugh le Bigod (see this trail, from his paternal grandfather).
Magna Carta Project logo
Descendant of Henry de Bohun and ancestor of John Fisher.
He is a descendant of Magna Carta surety barons Henry de Bohun (through his paternal grandmother, Alice de Toeni) and of the Bigods, through both of his parents.[1][11]
Until recently, this profile had been managed by the Magna Carta Project, pending review/approval of the trail from Henry de Bohun to Gateway Ancestor John Fisher (through his father, Thomas) that had been developed in 2015. In March 2022, the project removed itself as manager from profiles in pending Fisher trails that were not already in a badged trail.[12]
In addition to John Fisher, William's descendants include the Gateway Ancestors Robert Abell, Elizabeth Alsop, Grace Chetwode, St. Leger Codd, Edward Digges, Warham Horsmanden, Anne Humphrey (of MA), Thomas Lunsford, Anne Mauleverer, John Oxenbridge, Herbert Pelham, Thomas Rudyard, Katherine Saint Leger, Mary Johanna Somerset, and John West.[11][13]

However, since the Gateway Ancestor Fisher already has several badged trails, the project removed itself as manager on 19 March 2022 of this profile and several others on the pending trail that ran from Fisher to Bohun through William (the goal of the project is to have one badged trail for each Gateway Ancestor). See Fisher Trails. See Base Camp for more information about Magna Carta trails. See the project's glossary for project-specific terms.
  13. All are in badged trails as of 24 March 2022, except Anne Mauleverer, John Oxenbridge, and Thomas Rudyard.

Medieval Land Project has Isabel married to two Richard Beauchamps but lists the fathers as either "Henry" or "Thomas" Beauchamp. Otherwise it all tracks. Did William Beauchamp go by more than one name?

The link you cite, for Isabel, does say Henry was the father of Richard, Earl of Worcester, but is wrong. Click through to that Richard's entry and you'll see that he is the son of William (with sources): https://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/ENGLISH%20NOBILITY%20MEDIEVAL.htm#RichardAbergavennydied1422

Thomas is the father of Richard, Earl of Warwick. See that Richard's MedLands' entry: https://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/ENGLISH%20NOBILITY%20MEDIEVAL.htm#RichardWarwickdied1439

I have removed the Magna Carta Project as a manager and made associated changes: the Project does not plan to develop the Magna Carta trail in which this profile features.

Hi there

I am new to this site and have found it amazing. Was wondering if anyone may have some info on the connection between Anne Beauchamp 1470-1534 to the FitzAlan line. Is it through Sir William "1st Baron Abergavenny" de Beauchamp KG? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

kind regards flossie

if you mean Anne (Beauchamp) Lygon (abt.1472-1534) - go to Special:Relationship and enter Beauchamp-62 & Beauchamp-194 to see their relationship. If you have a particular FitzAlan in mind, you can enter that person's WikiTree-ID & Beauchamp-194 (Anne's WikiTree-ID) to see the relationship. There is also a Connection Finder: Special:Connection.

update: edited birth year info

Richardson calls him "4th son" - no mention that he's twin of Thomas. Wikipedia gives him a c1343 birth year (Thomas was born before 16 March 1338/9, according to Ricardson).

OK if I change his birth date in the datafield & remove the unsourced 16 March 1338/9 birth date from text?

(I'd also change the citation for "after 1344" - it's from Lewis, who appears to cite Richardson, but Royal Ancestry doesn't give a birth year - just "4th son".)

Thanks!

Beauchamp-138 and Beauchamp-62 appear to represent the same person because: the previously rejected merge had been proposed to merge away Beauchamp-138, which was attached to parents who weren't a couple. The profile has been edited to facilitate it being merged away into Beauchamp-62 (removed incorrect parents, revised birth year, & deleted text). Please merge. Thanks!

Beauchamp-138 and Beauchamp-62 do not represent the same person because: Different parents and dates.
What does the asterisk mean?

William as noted above was according to sources on Wikipedia 1st Earl of Bergavenny http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baron_Bergavenny

William was not the 12 Earl of Warwick, his Brother Thomas was.
