Biography

Kate Batten was born in Burma to parents of British citizenship.

Born in Rangoon on 20 October 1861 Katherine Batten was daughter of Sisley Batten and his second wife, Florence Thomson. By 1871 she was living with her mother and her siblings in Westbury-upon-Trym. ^[1] Ten years later she was in London the family having been rejoined by her father. ^[2]

At the 1901 Census, Katherine was living with her aunt, Isabel, and cousin, Isabel Fanny, at 2 Goldington Rd., Bedford. ^[3]
