Welcome to Wikitree. There are 131 people collaborating on various branches of the Barnes family. If I can be of assistance, please contact me. If you trace your roots to my Irish immigrant, Brinsley (1713-1794) (Barnes-1145) or Solomon, R. by all means lets connect. I operate a website devoted to Brinsley and Solomon Sr. (1751-1807) (Barnes-368) both of whom migrated to what became Wilkes County, NC in 1777. Solomon arrived in what was then Rowan County in about 1771. Brinsley arrived in Wilkes about 1784. At the time this was Indian Territory. Solomons roots are uncertain. Some contend that he was English other say Irish. The website also discusses their descendants who migrated to Kentucky, Indiana and Missouri. Embark with us on an adventure to discover unknown facts about the Barness. Brinsleys Irish family has been in America since 1734. Discover the stories about Brinsley our Ole Irish Immigrant; Deaf John who earned his nickname from constant exposure to cannon blast while serving as a Revolutionary Patriot under Washington at Valley Forge; Handsome Jim; The Union sympathizing preacher Uncle Sol, or Jehu who was murdered by his brother. Meet these ancestors by clicking on the next link but read the rest of the message before doing so https://competitivestrategies.us/barnes-ancestors-and-hist / Chose an adventure by clicking on one of the stories.
