The story is that John Smith remodeled the House of Ury. After finishing, Margaret and John went to Surrey, England for a marriage bond in January 1800. After all terms of the bond were met they married 1803 in Scotland. We know from Dudek's research on geni.com that there were two Margaret Barclay's born about the same time. Isabella (Smith) ?Stuart Gibson Masson spoke of the inheritance in 1954, and said that our Margaret Barclay was of Ury near Stonehaven, Scotland.
