William, son of Andrew Samuel Baker and Julia Bowers, was born 7 July 1892 in Worcester, Price, Wisconsin.[1]
On 22 August 1921, Mary (age 33) married William Samuel Baker (age 29) in Spokane, Washington.[2] By 1927, they lived in Plains, Montana, where they owned a bakery shop for a time.[3][4]
Mary, William and Sybil
Mary and William had only one child, Rosemary Sybil. She died, at the age of 5, from spinal meningitis on 12 May 1932 in Missoula, Montana. As described in Sybil’s obituary: “The child became suddenly ill Wednesday and was rushed to a Missoula hospital where she died Sunday night.“[5]
About 1942, Mary and William moved to Crescent Mills, California.
Military
Service: William served from 27 June 1918 to 31 October 1918 as a private in World War I. He served in Company C, 157 Infantry, World War I.[6]
Death and Burial
Death: William died (age 72) on 27 June 1965 in Plumas, California, United States.[7]
Burial: William was buried at Greenville District Cemetery in Greenville, Plumas, California.[8]
