From WV Newspapers 1822-1899 Vol. 1, pg.9:��The Charleston Daily Gazette�Monday, October 19, 1891��Mr. Ebenezer Baines, one of the oldest residents of this city, and the father of Ex Mayor J. D. Baines, died quite unexpectedly at 7:30 last night. He was an Englishman by birth, about 83 years of age, and had resided in this place for more than fifty years.��The Charleston Daily Gazette�Tuesday, October 20, 1891��The funeral of Mr. Ebenezer Baines who died Saturday evening last, will take place at the First Presbyterian church today at 3:00 O'clock p.m.��The Charleston Daily Gazette�Wednesday, October 21, 1891��Funeral services over the late E. Baines were held yesterday at the First Presbyterian church, after which the remains were laid at rest in Spring Hill cemetery, followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends of the deceased.
