Biography
John Bain, son of Alexander Bain and Margaret Mullekin, was born about 1826 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 27 August 1826.[1]
In 1841 John was living in Gersay, in the parish of Watten, with his mother and brothers James, Alexander and Magnus.[2]
In 1851 John was a farmer (30 acres, 2 Labourers) living with his mother and siblings in Watten (address Gersay).[3]
