Biography

John Bailey was born in Lincolnshire, England.

John was born in about 1771^[1].

He was about 25 years of age when he and Elizabeth Fryer published their Banns of Marriage on three consecutive Sundays, being 20 November 1796, 27 November 1796 and 4 December 1796. They were subsequently married on 5 December 1796 at North Witham, Lincolnshire, England^[2]. The Witnesses were Elizabeth Fowler and Martha Watkison.

They are thought to have had eight children.

John worked as a farrier and blacksmith.

John passed away as the result of an accident in 1836 at the age of 65^[3] and was buried in St. Mary, North Witham, Lincolnshire^[4].
