In 1841 Jonas Bailey (age 55-59) lived in Widdington with his wife Abria (50-54) and five children: Thomas (30-34), William (25-29), Elizabeth (15-19), Charles (10), and Robert (7), as well as John Cakebread (40-44).[3]
Jonas' wife Abra Bailey passed away in 1846.
In 1851 Jonas Bailey (age 64, Gardener & Beer Shop Keeper) lived in Weddington with three of his sons: Thomas (40, Gardeners Labourer), Charles (20, Gardeners Labourer), and Robert (17, Gardeners Labourer), as well as lodger Joseph Fletcher (27, Rail Road Labourer).[4]
In 1861 Jonas Bailey (age 75, Gardener and Beer Seller) lived at Bonhunt in Widdington with his son Thomas (57[~51], Gardener Son).[5]
In 1871 Jonas Bailey (age 84, Gardener) was a boarder in Widdington in the household of William Manton.[6]
Jonas Bailey passed away in January 1873, aged 86 years. His death was registered in Saffron Walden, Essex [the registration district for Widdington] in the first quarter of the year.[7] He was buried on 20 Jan 1873 in Essex.[8]
